A to Z Blogging Challenge 2012: Loser

I'm doing another musical tribute today. Beck's Loser. It became an anthem for the "slacker generation" but Beck is far from a slacker. This song, at least to me, was fun jab at taking things too seriously. How many times have we said or at least thought to ourselves, "Man, I'm a loser"? And why? Because we didn't do something we thought was right or that we thought wasn't good enough. Listen to the song. If you try to figure out the meaning of each line you might get lost. They're full of metaphors and character analysis. Each of us could probably find a line or two that when you dig deep enough screams who we are, how we see others, or what we wish we were or could say. On that note, I'm so happy to be a loser in my own right. Without further ado, HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"S BECK!!!!!!

Now for my "theme" of the A to Z Challenge:

Today's homophone...

Lase (verb) to give off coherent light, as in a laser.
For Example: The ophthalmologist lased off the bad layer of the cornea.

Lays (verb) to put or place in a horizontal position or position of rest.
For Example: When she gets tired of blogging she lays her head down on her desktop.

Laze (verb) to idle or lounge lazily
For Example: The dog was to tired to do anything but laze around the front porch.

Leis. (noun) Hawaiian Island wreath of flowers, leaves, etc for the neck or head.
For Example: They were met at the airport by beautiful women placing leis around their necks.

Happy reading!

I've never thought of this as an anthem, but it's so true. And choking on the splinters!
